Welcome to The Actor’s Best. In round 2, we have Arnold Schwarzenegger. Here is, in my opinion, Arnold’s top 5 movies.
5: Kindergarden cop
In this hilarious comedy, Detective John Kimble (Schwarzenegger) poses as a kindergarten teacher to apprehend a major drug lord and his ruthless helper, his mother. While Kimble trying to crack the case, Kimble has many problems with the children in this funny adventure. This movie has more comedy than action, and even though the story is very clear, it’s a great family movie that I enjoyed.
Dutch (Schwarzenegger), a high class top-of-the-line soldier, is hired by the U.S. government to secretly rescue a group of politicians trapped in Guatemala. But when Dutch and his team, land in the warzone, they find out something is terribly wrong. After finding a string of dead bodies, the crew realize they are being hunted by an insanely brutal creature with superhuman strength and the ability to suddenly vanish into the environment. This movie is the perfect blend of explosives and thrills where the setting is almost as unpromising as the nail-biting extra-terrestrial scoundrel.
3: True Lies
Harry Tasker (Schwarzenegger), is secretly a spy but to his family, he is just a dull salesman. When Harry is assigned to track down nuclear missiles in the possession of Islamic jihadist Aziz, his mission is complicated when he realizes his neglected wife, Helen (Jamie Lee Curtis), is having an affair with Simon, a used-car salesman who claims he’s a spy. So, when Aziz kidnaps Harry and Helen, Harry must save the world and fix his marriage at the same time. True Lies is an exciting mix of thrills and comedy, for older teens and up.
Retired Special Forces soldier John Matrix (Schwarzenegger) lives with his daughter Jenny in isolation, but his privacy is disturbed by former commander Franklin Kirby, who warns him that his fellow soldiers are getting slaughter one after another. When Kirby leaves, Jenny is kidnapped by a former president, Arius, who wants Matrix to restore him to power. Instead, Matrix embarks on a dangerous adventure to bring down the rogue leader and save his daughter. For me, Commando is one of the best arguments available for the action movie as pure entertainment.
1: Terminator 2: Judgment Day
In this sequel set eleven years after “The Terminator,” youthful John Connor, the key to civilization’s victory over a future robot uprising, is the target of the shape-shifting T-1000, a Terminator sent from the future to kill him. Another Terminator, the revamped T-800 (Schwarzenegger), has been sent back to protect John Connor. As John and his mother go on the run from the T-1000 with the T-800, the boy forms a suprising bond with the T-800. Terminator 2: Judgement Day is, in my opinion, the BEST terminator movie. This explosive sequel is pretty damn near perfect. This motion picture is movie-making on a massive scale, packed dense with awesome touches that are too many to describe – escape scenes which seem impossible, dangerous helicopter stunts, and huge explosions.
